Structure and Management of Accugenix, Inc.
A privately held company, Accugenix is controlled by a Board of Directors and its shareholders, who include Mark Martin, Aaron Martin, Patty Wray and Doug Smith.

Douglas Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer
Doug Smith has over 40 years of experience working in industry and has been a key innovator at several leading companies. At Accugenix he drives research and development efforts for developing and improving methods, assays and identification databases. Prior to coming to Accugenix, Doug held senior level positions at companies such as ViroLogic, Agilent (Hewlett Packard), Spectra Physics, and Genomyx Corp (Genentech). Through tenure at these companies, Doug achieved significant success in the development of microbial identification systems. During his time at PE/ Applied Biosystems, he was the developer and program manager on the project to develop the MicroSeq® system which uses comparative sequencing and dedicated databases to identify bacteria and fungi. While at Agilent (Hewlett Packard), he was the developer and program manager of a fully automated GC fatty acid system and libraries for the identification of bacterial samples. Doug received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science/ Electrical Engineering from University of California Berkeley.

Joseph H. Martini, Chief Financial Officer
Joe Martini has served as CFO for Accugenix since 2006 and was a consultant to the Company prior to that time. Joe reports to the CEO and is in charge of all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. Joe has over 35 years of experience in public and private accounting. Immediately prior to joining Accugenix, Joe served as Director of Operations for Accume Partners, a national organization providing outsourced internal auditing, risk assessment, and Sarbanes-Oxley services. Joe received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Villanova University.

Beth Burke, Director of Quality Assurance
Beth Burke, Director of Quality Assurance, reports to the CEO and is responsible for planning and directing all activities associated with the integrity of our service provision. She leads the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for Accugenix processes, materials, and services for cGMP compliance. Beth has contributed to Accugenix and Acculab for over ten years in a variety of roles. Prior to working in the QA department, Beth gained significant hands on experience through working in each of the Accugenix and Acculab laboratories for several years, as well as serving as the Quality Control Specialist for both laboratories. She also developed our Technical Support department before moving on to managing the QA department. This experience uniquely enabled her to design a Compliance Program to meet both the needs of Accugenix and our customers. Beth and her quality team host more than 60 client audits each year. Beth received her B.S. degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware.

Mehul Patel, Senior Marketing Manager
For over a decade, Mehul Patel has had extensive experience in Research and Development, market analysis, technology and product development for the Biotech and Pharmaceutical industries. He obtained his B.S. degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan and his MBA degree in Finance from the University of Delaware. Mr. Patel is currently responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing marketing strategies and achieving marketing targets in support of corporate goals at Accugenix, Inc.

Gary Merkel, Computing Technology Manager
Gary Merkel, Computing Technology Manager at Accugenix, has over 20 years of experience working in Information Technology and scientific application development. His past experience includes pricincipal software design and development roles in commercial applications involving microbial identification (DNA sequencing, fatty acid profiling), analytical chemistry (SFC, Gas Chromatography, environmental screening), computational chemistry (lead generation and lead optimization), chemical engineering (static and dynamic process simulation), and business and financial systems (financial and cost analysis). At Accugenix, Gary has primary responsibility for computing infrastructure and automated systems. His team is committed to achieving the highest levels of automated system performance and compliance in a cGMP regulated environment. Gary received his B.S. degree in Accounting and Statistics from the University of Pennsylvania and his M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Delaware.

Michael Anderson, National Sales Manager
Michael Anderson, National Sales Manager at Accugenix, has an extensive background in both sales and microbiology. He received his B.S. degree in Microbiology from the University of Maine and has several years of experience as a clinical microbiology laboratory supervisor. Before joining Accugenix Mike represented several leading life science companies as a sales professional, including bioMerieux Vitek, Inc., Remel, and USB Corporation. He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).

Ulrich K. Herber, Managing Director, Accugenix GmbH
Dr. Ulrich Herber has been with Accugenix since March 2008, when our European subsidiary was launched. He is on the advisory board of ECA Working Groups - Rapid Microbiological Methods. Ulrich is an expert in pharmaceutical microbiology and leads our European activities. He brings over 8 years experience within the Pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining Accugenix, Ulrich was the Operations Director at Concept Heidelberg, Europe’s leading advanced training and information services provider in the area of pharmaceutical quality assurance and drug safety. Dr. Herber also spent 3 years as the Product Manager for the Biotech division of Sartorius.
