Accugenix offers AccuPRO-ID®, a proteotypic method based on MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry technology. AccuPRO-ID® is an ideal high value/low cost solution for routine environmental monitoring and primary screening needs, providing bacterial identification to the species level with greater accuracy than antiquated biochemical methods. Additionally, we back it with our AccuGENIX-ID™ method at no additional cost.

Powerful approaches to strain typing and characterization are essential when the question in sterile product development is “What is the source of my contamination?” Accurate and reproducible strain typing is equally important when the question in the probiotics industry is “Are we sure this is the correct bacterial strain?”
As a complement to our sequence-based microbial identification services, Accugenix offers our AccuGENX-ST™ multi and single locus sequence typing (MLST, SLST) service, as well as automated ribotyping (BacRib) for strain-level characterization and tracking of bacterial isolates. Both methods are able to differentiate isolates below the species level, with different efficiencies, by examining multiple regions of the genome.

Compare other commercial technologies
For comparative purposes, we also provide access to Commercial Solutions that are an inexpensive, although higher risk, option for our clients. These “Out of the Box” options include utilizing the ABI MicroSEQ® system (with its v.2.2 Bacterial Library and v.2.0 Fungal Library) and the Bruker MALDI Biotyper® (with its v.3.1.2 Bacterial Library) for your identification purposes. Many organizations are quickly recognizing that obtaining a rapid and accurate identification is far from an “out of the box” solution.
