Maximum accuracy. Minimum hassle. Optimum methods.
Rapid and reproducible results…in as little as 6 hours
Comparative DNA sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene in bacteria (test code: BacSeq) and the ITS2 rRNA region for fungi (test code: FunITS) has been proven to be the most accurate and reproducible method for identifying unknown microorganisms. Our AccuGENX-ID® genotypic identification methods are widely accepted as the industry “gold standard” for the identification of microorganisms. The sequencing technique is independent of the health or growth conditions of the isolate; samples can be viable or nonviable cultures or simply genomic DNA from your microbe. The Accugenix identification process is cGMP compliant. For each sample submitted for identification, the resulting DNA sequence is compared to the validated Accugenix library—the industry’s most comprehensive and up-to-date database for environmental isolates.
There’s not much we haven’t seen…
In the constantly changing world of microbiology, Accugenix has tested and identified more microorganisms than any other company or service laboratory in the world. We have worked tirelessly to develop and refine a method of analysis and interpretation and validated proprietary libraries unrivaled in the industry. We continually update our libraries so they reflect current taxonomies and classifications and are relevant to real-world frequency of occurrence criteria.
In cases where a species level result is not possible, the sequence of the organism still provides valuable phylogenetic information about the sample. The sequence data can be used for tracking and trending, regardless of whether the organism has been identified and a genus or species name provided, to compare the relatedness of samples previously submitted or to future isolates.
