Accugenix Proteotypic Identification

High confidence for species-level bacterial identifications at low cost.

Our AccuPRO-ID proteotypic microbial identification method is an ideal choice for routine environmental monitoring and primary screening of bacterial organisms. Dated biochemical technologies typically lack the library entries and detection capabilities to keep pace with today’s constantly changing taxonomy requirements. This new method utilizes MALDI-TOF (Matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization – time of flight) mass spectrometry technology, and demonstrates a consistent improvement of 30-40% in accuracy over existing phenotypic methods. Plus, it's backed with a validated library based on Accugenix’s experience with genetic testing methods and frequency of occurrence data from over 500,000 microorganisms identified during the past decade.

AccuPRO-ID utilizes ribosomal proteins for identification, which are always present in very high numbers even with small samples. The testing process yields a unique protein fingerprint, or spectra, that is then compared to a validated database for identification. Any sample that exhibits an undefined result is automatically tested, at no extra cost, through our genetic sequencing process, thereby ensuring an accurate species level ID is always provided.
